Question  -   What do I need to be aware of when booking a DJ?

Answer  -   Do book an experienced DJ, not just a bloke who will bring some music along. This applies especially if it's a once-in-a-lifetime event such as a wedding. Every event is a one-off and if the DJ entertainment is poor or doesn't turn up, you will not get a second chance!

A professional DJ service will be set up before the booking starts, provide written, binding confirmation, be happy to play your music requests and most importantly will have up to date, high quality, PAT tested DJ sound and lighting equipment - plus back up gear if its ever needed. The old cliché "you get what you pay for" has never been more apt.

An interesting statistic from Bride & Groom Magazine “entertainment is one of the lowest priorities when booking a wedding DJ, however when asked a week after the event 78% of brides wished they had made it the number one priority, as it is one of the things most people remembered about their wedding”.

Question  -   How much do you charge?

Answer  -   Our charges are based on so many things, the venue, the number of people attending, the date, parking and unloading, even the height of the function room will affect the cost (acoustics). If the event is more than 5 hours long, two DJs will be required. Please fill in our online booking quote form with as much detail as possible and we will answer your enquiry as soon as possible with a full costing for your event.  Please bear in mind when you're considering our quote that most events require your DJ to do up to 4 hours of uncharged work, answering emails, collating requests lists, travelling to and from a venue plus the setting up and packing down time.

Question  -   What kind of music do you play?

Answer  -   Our DJs knowledge and music collections span the decades, from the 50s, through the 60s, 70s and 80s right up to the latest chart hits. Whether you’re looking for an experienced wedding DJ, personality DJ for a family function, a seasoned professional for a corporate bash, or DJ to create the right vibe at your 21st birthday, we have the DJ to suit your requirements.

Question  -   Do you do requests?

Answer  -   Yes our DJs are very happy to take requests on the night from you and your guests. We also give you and your guests access to our online playlist planner for you to list favourite tracks and dedications.  We actively encourage our customers’ input regarding the music for your event, so if you only have an idea of what you want, or want to supply a full party playlist, you can do either. It’s your party.

Question  -   Do you confirm in writing?

Answer  -   Yes, we issue a contract showing all the details of your function. Your booking is confirmed once this information and a deposit is received.

Question  -   How do I know you won’t let me down?

Answer  -   Your DJ will sign a similar contract with us, specific to your function and is supplied with a detailed map showing how to get to your party. All our DJs carry back up equipment essentials in case of emergencies.

Question  -   How long do you need to set up and how much space do you require?

Answer  -  Our DJs usually allow an hour (max) for setting up, and can usually fit into an area 4 metres x 2 metres. Larger functions may require more time & space. You are not charged for this setting up period.

Question  -  Why does it make a difference if the venue is upstairs?

Answer  -  This usually means extra time and more hands to carry heavy equipment when setting up and this affects the cost of the event.

Question  -  What kind of lighting do you use?

Answer  -  All of our DJs use the latest LED lighting effects and carry the right amount to suit the venue size. These do not usually include strobe lighting or smoke / haze machines. If either of these are required please check that your venue allows them.

Question  -  What will the DJ wear?

Answer  -  Our DJs generally dress smart casual, shirt & tie or black tie upon request. Please request this on booking. Absolutely no jeans and T Shirts.

Question  -  Have you got Insurance?

Answer  -  Yes, we hold £10m Public Liability Insurance cover, a copy of our current certificate is available on request and can be forwarded to your venue if required.

Question  -  What about Health & Safety – is your equipment PAT tested?

Answer  -  Yes, all our DJs equipment is Portable Appliance (PAT) tested annually in accordance with the Health & Safety Executive, Electricity at Work Act 1989. A copy of your DJ’s current test certificate is available on request and can be forwarded to your venue if required.

Question  -  How and when do I pay?

Answer  -  If you decide to book, we make payment easy so there’s NO DEPOSIT needed and you can pay online, as much or as little as you want, when you want. That means there’s no large bill to deal with on the day!

The value of your DJ lies with “ability” and “results” ...not how cheap you can source one. In this profession, you get exactly what you pay for.
